Finland quickly taught itself to perceive itself as a fairly significant force. Of course, in football they are not nearly as powerful as in their favorite hockey. And, most importantly, they directly went to Euro 2020, after which the debutant also won against Denmark (albeit against the backdrop of the tragedy with Eriksen). Yes, and last year, in qualifying, Pukki and company seriously competed with Ukraine and Bosnia, but in the end they lost 2nd place to Petrakov’s wards. Against this background, having started well (a draw with Dzeko and the company and a victory over Montenegro), then a couple of defeats in a row were allowed.

Romania

Romania was once highly rated in national football. At the end of the last century, they did not miss a single “big” tournament, and more than once Hadji and company managed to make a good noise not only in the group. But lately it has only been possible to qualify for Euro 2016 – and then for the sake of the 1st draw in 3 matches. The team did not advance to the next continental tournament, losing in the play-offs. And in last year’s qualifying came to the finish line 3rd in the group. In 2022, a new mentor, Edward Yordenescu, has appeared, but so far he has not been doing much. In the spring, there was a defeat for Greece and a draw with Israel in a test match, and in the League of Nations, the team lost to Montenegro (twice) and Bosnia. But at the same time, the only goal for 4 June matches, performed by Banku, brought a home victory over the Finns.
